The Likes of You presents Lützenkirchen [Great Stuff Rec's]

For the first time ever Lützenkirchen come to Australia for some intimate club shows…

The Likes Of You presents Lutzenkirchen (Munich, Great Stuff Records)

Lutzenkirchen is Germany’s worst kept secret when it comes to productions that are neither predictable nor stylistically faithful. This electronic super nova comes right on time to turn the world upside down, infecting minds and bodies with his treacherous rhythms and slandering grooves. Lützenkirchen deliberately pushes musical boundaries not only as a producer, but also as a DJ. He incorporates everything from jazzy chords to cheeky samples – and combines a powerful mix of techno, progressive, electro, trance, and house – making music that gets bodies moving whilst being distinctively him.

His new album ‘Pandora Electronica’ is currently available through ITUNES on Hussle and all good record stores.

The Honeymooners present Akufen aka Horror Inc

The Honeymooners proudly present the highly anticipated Melbourne show for the legendary AKUFEN.

Marc Leclair aka Akufen / Horror Inc (and many more!) has come a long way in the years since the release of his now-classic debut album, My Way (Force Inc. 2002). In that time he’s earned a reputation as one of the planet’s most in-demand DJ’s – not to mention one of the scene’s most talented – delivering prime-time sets to exuberant crowds all over the world.

It’s his legendary Fabric CD that seems to have cemented Akufen’s status as an absolute underground superstar amongst house and techno dancefloors alike. For those who show up looking for a whirlwind micro-house extravaganza, along the lines of this monstrous Fabric 17 mix, walk away knowing that Akufen is a DJ who shows up not fulfill expectations but to trump them. “My DJ sets are more technological dance music than techno, with still a bit of house thrown in.”

Furthermore, having remixed the likes of Richie Hawtin, Cabaret Voltaire, Yello, Massive Attack, Thomas Dolby, and Thomas Brinkmann, plus licensing his tracks to compilations on taste-maker labels such Kompakt, Perlon and Fabric, there aren’t many sets of ears and feet that haven’t lost it to his infectious grooves and unique aesthetic. For a lot of producers, the Akufen way has simply become the way to assemble tracks. After the release of My Way, Leclair was humbled by the unparalleled accolades and legions of admiring peers who began paying homage to his micro-sampling aesthetic.

But, when he’s not DJing, Leclair considers himself a conceptual artist first and music producer second. In 2005, Leclair issued a second full-length called Musique pour 3 femmes enceintes, which he performed at London’s Tate Modern. He has also performed internationally at ARS Electronica (as part of 5mm with Gabriel Coutu-Dumont), the MUTEK Festival (Montreal), SONAR (Barcelona), Transmediale Festival (Berlin), Decibel Festival (Seattle), Ten Days Off Festival (Belgium), Winter Music Conference (Miami), and numerous others.

And yet, when not recording music or traveling around the world’s museums, Leclair finds time to remix other artists, run his own label Musique Risquee, work on various side projects… and most importantly EXCITE and INSPIRE dancefloors everywhere. He’ll do it again at Ffour on Saturday 26 July.

Support from Dave Pham / Mike Callander / Virginia Le / Safari / James Steer, Steve Law, D- Rectional, Jinga, Ai Yamamoto and many more

Simon Flower LIVE (Poker Flat / Moon Harbour) – Saturday 21st June

Simon Flower eflyer

The Honeymooners present a super special last minute show!!!!!

Simon Flower LIVE (Poker Flat / Moon Harbour) – Saturday 21st June @ Ffour!!

In the last year New Zealand’s Simon Flower has taken the house and techno world by storm with his stunning releases and remixes for Poker Flat, Moon Harbour, Dessous, Compost and Curl Curl. Tracks such as “The Whisper Had It” featured heavily in the charts of the world’s best DJs such as Steve Bug, Josh Wink, Anja Schneider and M.A.N.D.Y (who added it to their highly acclaimed FABRIC CD), while “Send in the Clowns” was voted #3 in the influential Groove Magazine chart.

But Simon’s success wasn’t something that happened overnight. He is a stalwart of Auckland’s underground music scene, having produced an extensive catalogue of excellent releases under the moniker “Peak:Shift” through his own Nurture imprint, and performing LIVE in his native New Zealand for over a decade, finding his roots and inspiration in the Berlin/Detroit axis – deep electronic music with soul.

Simon is about to head to Europe for gigs at the Poker Flat night at Paris’ Rex Club and further shows in Germany and Russia, but first, in an exclusive Australian performance, the Honeymooners at F4 are proud to present SIMON FLOWER LIVE on Saturday 21st June.

Last year Simon Flower entertained and excited dancefloors all across Europe, including legendary clubs such as Berlin’s WATERGATE and Cologne’s C/O Pop Festival, and now it’s time to give Melbourne a dose of what our city loves most: Quality house and techno from one of the world’s most exciting artists.

Support comes from our very own LIVE-AND-LOCAL Christian Vance LIVE / DAVE PHAM / NICHOLAS JOUIN and MIKE CALLANDER.

with Joe Seve, Loot & B-Low playing Drum & Bass in the suite.
